If you’re using our Blogger templates, you might encounter a few problems during the installation process. We’ve highlighted some of the common Blogger template issues and their fixes below:

Issue #1: Additional images not showing

Many themes require adding a jump break to show the post snippet instead of the full post. Unfortunately, this function might prevent additional images from appearing on the homepage and you may want to disable it.

How to fix this?

To show more content, you will manually have to remove the jump break from your posts.

1. Go to your post editor and click on the pencil icon located on the upper left side, then select <> HTML view.

2. Click anywhere inside the content area, then press CTRL + F (or Command + F) to open the search box > paste the following snippet inside it (press Enter to find it):

<!--more-->

Live example:

3. You need to REMOVE the snippet, then click the ‘Update’ button on the upper left side of the screen.

Issue #2: Full Post Displaying Instead of Summary

Some of our Blogger templates will use JavaScript to display the post summary. Since the script uses the post title tag inside quotation marks, make sure that the title of the blog posts doesn’t contain double quotes as well.

How to fix this?

The easiest way is to simply edit the post and replace the double quotation marks with single quotes (or any other symbol). However, this may not be the best option if there are lots posts to edit and you may want to skip that process – here’s what you need to do:

1. Go to Theme and click the Edit HTML button:

2. When you see the code editor, left click anywhere on the code area and press CTRL + F (or Command + F) to open the search box.

3. Search for the following code snippet:

"<data:post.title/>"

4. Replace it with:

`<data:post.title/>`

5. Click the Save button to save the changes. For more details, see the screenshot below:

Note: If you find the same code more than once, replace the other identical codes as well. Make sure to not remove the commas or any other code fragments, as this will cause the script to stop running.

In Blogger, you can organize all your posts into different pages by adding labels to your posts. This way, your visitors can click on the available labels and find all posts related to that particular topic.

Adding labels to individual posts

To add labels to individual, edit your post and click “Labels” under the “Post settings” area.

Type the label that best describes your content. For example, if your post is about making pancakes, type the label recipes or food. You can enter multiple labels, just make sure that you separate the labels by commas.

Once you’re done, click the “Publish” or “Update” button on the upper right side of the post.

Adding labels to multiple posts

If you have many articles published on your blog, adding labels to individual posts may not be the best idea. Fortunately, you can tag posts from the same category straight from your dashboard.

Adding labels to multiple posts is really easy. All you have to do is to select the posts you want to add label to and click on the tag icon.

On the box that appears, type the label(s) you want on the “Add a label” field or select them from the list, then click “Apply”.

The labels should appear on the right side of the post titles.

Important

Proceed with caution when adding labels to your posts. This action will remove the label you wanted to add if the selected post is already tagged with it.

Logos are made up of text and/or images allowing your visitors to understand the personality and niche of your website. With the Header gadget, you can easily add your own logo without any coding skills.

Step by Step Guide

1. Edit “Header” gadget

To upload an image inside your header, typically referred to as a logo, go to “Layout” and click “Edit” on the (Header) gadget.

Note: Your page elements might look slightly different but the gadget can be easily identified by the (Header) text. If your template provides multiple header locations, you may see more than one.

2. Upload your logo

Click “Browse” and double click on the image that you want to use. Once the image has been uploaded, it should appear in the same window.

3. Change header placement

Check the “Instead of title and description” option below and click “Save”.
